Back in the Valley 1-28-13

Well it has been raining for the past several days which is funny because that is what it did when I went to Prescott. The work is moving along here we picked up 2 new investigators and they came to Church on Sunday. The work here is amazing I think it is because of the new Phoenix Temple that is coming up that is about 3 miles from our area and is inside our zone. We had 7 investigators at church on Sunday and have 2 set baptism on the 16th of Feb. Also, Grandma R in a companionship their is a Senior and Junior Companionship and the senior companion is the one that has been out the longest, but this time I am just guiding S. Follett and helping prepare her to be a senior companion and train. that is perfect with me. O so now that i am back in the valley Brother Lee from Bethany Home is a facility manager over the building we meet in and so I have seen him twice. He told me that Darrin went to the Temple a couple of weeks ago for the first time. got to run love you

coming home... the beginnings 1-14-13

Well first i sound let you all know that i will be flying home a week earlier then first projected. I was suppose to come home May 28th but because of the changes that have happened to the missionary program since Oct. GC I will be having a 5 week transfer starting next weeks transfer and then we will go back to 6 week transfers again. But that one 5 week transfer messes ever transfer up after that so I will be flying home on MAY 21 not the 28ths. which is good because then I can give me talk in church on the 27th hopefully and not have to wait 2 weeks because of fast Sunday the week I get home.

this week has been so great. it has strengthen my testimony of as we live in obedience no matter what is happening around us OUR HEAVENLY FATHER BLESSES US WITH THOSE PROMISED BLESSINGS OF OBEDIENCE. We got a new investigator and not the one that i talked about last week. that person ended up being a member. But we went and visited a Part member less active family and their 11 year old son Connor wants to learn more about the gospel and the parents are ready to start coming to church. YAY:) Also the lady that i talked about last week, that I thought was going to become a new investigator but was a member we are throwing her a baby shower this Thursday (with the RS help if course). It is more of a welfare/ fellow shipping shower because her and her boyfriend are new and coming back to church. We are going to start teaching her son as well that is not a member. like i said HEAVENLY FATHER BLESSES WHEN WE ARE OBEDIENT NO MATTER WHAT. I have gained a strong testimony of that Principle this week. one that i will hold onto forever and strive to live be for ever. Well got to run and email president

love you all bye,

Lessons in Obedience 1-7-13

So this week, we had zone meeting and it was really good this week. We were committed by our zone leaders to start praying every morning and and night as a companionship to pray specifically to do the will of God each day. And as we have done that each day we have been able to see miracles each day. S. Larson lost her planner and our phone Friday night and Saturday we did our morning things and then went out to find them, it was really need to see that God was able to lead us back to them even though we had no idea where they were at. We found them both on the side of the road in to different places untouched and unharmed. It was a good thing that we found them both because we were out visiting people and stopped by this less active man and we were talking to him and as we were leaving we had to call 911 because he passed out on us. He really needed to go to the hospital but refused treatment:( good thing we have programs in the church like Home teaching and visiting teaching, we informed his home teachers and they are going to keep an eye on him and we will visit when we are out that far. We also were able to have a missionary moment with the fire men explaining who were were and what we were doing. it was like being home again. HEHE

We also started teaching this excommunicated man that had pulled his name from the records after getting a divorce with his wife. they are now wanting to get back together and so he has to take the lessons all over again and everything. So we have started to teach him and also we texted a returning less active that has a live in girlfriend last night as asked if Rhianna wanted to learn more and she texted back and said she would love to learn more. We set up a lesson with her for Wednesday. As we are obedient no matter what we have the LORDS promise that he will bless us. This week is evidence of that promise.

I love you all and hope you have a great week.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 12-31-12

Well it was good to talk to some of you, Grandma and Grandpa Wright hope you all had a great Christmas. Thank you all for the gifts. Well we have no investigators and so we are doing a LOT of finding and what not. This week we got 9 member referrals, which is amazing I dont know of many missionaries that get more then 4 or 5 member refferals. You all should help the missionaries and share your friends with the missionaries. Do you know if the missionaries there are doing a new approch called the prayer approch? find out and let me know please. because of the holidayswe are are stuck in our appartment all day (after pday hours are done) and then all day tomorrow also. Sister Larson and I are going to start working with the wards and helpping to prepare them for for the new tons of missionaries that are coming in. Well what a great new year this will be, we are starting it off with a wonderful snow storm and a hike with the zone. Got to run but hope you all have a great week. just kidding there is more i need to talk to you about, so this week we have been cleaning out our area books and going through the former investigators and we went to visit these 2 little girls that were being taught a few years ago. they lived in this trailer park area, and when i day trailer park i mean rv trailer park but these people live in them. We did not find the girls because CPS took them out of the home. but we did meet this girl named Jessica and we prayed with her and got a return appointment so we will see what happens this week. Love yall

Merry Christmas 12-24-12

First off Merry Christmas to you all. Hope you have a memorable one. This week has been a crazy one but so great, we had the Christmas Conference on Friday and got to go to the temple and what a well needed trip that was. Lots of sleep lost this week because of it though, got up Friday about 5:10 am and got home about 11:15 pm. have not recovered since, however with 2 days pretty much off there will be a lot of sleeping and cleaning and DE-cluttering the apartment. Missionaries apartments get so cluttered because every missionary leaves things behind and so S. Larson and I are going to take these days off and clean out the whole room. YAY. Well hope you all had a great week. Thanks for the fudge did i ask you for some because i keep meaning to ask and forgot. But I loved getting it, it is the one thing that i look forward to each Christmas. I thank you for the other gifts that i have not opened yet either. Well love you all and hope you have a merry Christmas.

Love you all so much,

Sister Robinson

December is here 12-3-12

Well December is here, November what even happened to that month. I Really honestly have no idea what even happened at the beginning of the month. What a week we have had, this December is going to be crazier then ever. With 3 wards and 3 ward Christmas parties and Relief society activities. It is busy busy busy. This past week, during pday I worked on my Family History, mostly just cleaning it up and getting sources for the info I do have. Also, worked on Dads side of the family what a puzzle (sorry Dad and Gma Judy:) On Tuesday we had a good day had a lesson with Bernard and still trying to help him see him see the importance of what he is learning and how putting Gods will first will help him in other things in life. Sometimes, I get frustrated with the people that we are working with and them not getting things that will help their life. But, that is why I am developing patience out here more then ever before. We also, had dinner with a less active sister she was so cutie she gave me a white dress to wear I sent a picture of me in it needless to say I will never wear it. Wednesday, we had dinner with the Nelson family Bro. Nelson is the HC over missionary work in the stake. We taught them the restoration and gave them a DVD of it to give to a friend, Which in turn we then hope to turn them into a investigator/ RC. Thursday, we were at the FHC with one of our RC starting her in her FH, and get a call from this unknown number, which happens a lot. But S. Culler is making an appointment with whoever is on the phone for that night. Must be important who ever it is, come to find out it is a LA sister that we have been trying to get in touch with for about 2 months or so. Sister Underwood, born and raised in the church fell away when we was a young adult and has been put into a humble situation now and KNOWS where to turn THE CHURCH, so because we have left notes so much for her to call us, she did and wanted us to come over and pray with her to help her feel the spirit again. She is so ready to come back and we are going to baptism her husband wile doing it and then in a year they are going to go and get sealed in the temple. that was one of the big exciting things that happened this week. the other we will get to in a minute. O and on Thursday we had District M-ting and it was amazing. Friday we had an amazing weekly planning and then went and visited a LA brother who was going to move his record to another ward, but then because he meet us and we got him HT he decided to leave his records in the right ward. We also helped a new couple move into the ward on Friday night, that was fun. Saturday we had one of the ward Christmas parties and had a meeting with one of our RS presidents. I love coordinating with the ward members on things we can help them with. Sunday we had church and one of our investigators came, I think it really helped her to come and feel the spirit there at church. We also had the Christmas Devo. from the first presidency. it was so good, and I love watching it because it really reminds us of the meaning of the session. it was a good week. the other picture is one That i made to decorate our apartment.

It wasnt my fault 11-26-12

So as you can see in the first picture it has been quite the week. First I want to say that was not my fault I was in Phoenix on exchanges when S. Culler ran off the road while trying to slow her speed. Can I first tell you she has very little driving experience to begin with. Because of the accident I only got about an hour of work in on our exchange before having to head back to Prescott. Exchanges are well needed when you have a companionship like I do know. So that is what we have been dealing with all week. Well Thursday to today, we just got work that I am going to be driving again full time. President had her drive all weekend so she would not be scared to drive when she did again. one of those fall off the horse and get back on, kinda things. I never thought that I would have to teach a companion how to drive on the mission, but I did. It was crazy and stressful beyond belief. I actually got physically sick because of the stress it is all good now. NO WORRIES NEEDED:) We had a lesson with one of our investigators and her Kids where there this time, and we talked about the restoration and the Book on Mormon and why it is important to us today. They excepted the challenge to read and pray about it and, even asked about baptism. It was so cool:) We finally have a lesson with the a Family named the Kreikemeiers (it is ok if you cant say it, it took me a long time to learn to spell it:), after being here for 3 months now we finally have a lesson with them on Saturday. OH YEAH!!!!! This week has been is crazy, Thanksgiving was good we had a lunch and a dinner and both were very good, only gained a pound:) I have videos that i have started taking but I cant send them through email so I guess you will have to wait till i get home for them:(. it will be a treat for you :) Well I got to run look forward to hearing from you all next week.

Holidays are Coming 11-19-12

Hope all is well, where ever you may be going to be a short email to day. 1st of ALL need to go and look at http://mormon.org/christmas it is a church website just through Christmas. You can send e-cards and get music and such for free, plus it has cool videos on there. Please look at it and tell me what you think in next weeks email. Yep it is an assignment. hehe, You have the thanksgiving holiday that you can look at it. This week was good we had a zone conference that was amazing got to see Sister Murdock again and talk to the sisters in Bethany Home. This week we are going on exchanges with Spanish sisters on Wednesday and Thursday in a by appointment only day because it is a holiday. Which means unless we have an appointment then we have to stay in our apartment:( so basically because all of our appointments are thanksgiving with members we will eat about 3-5 thanksgiving meals and then just sit around our apartment. Yay, That is probably the only thing I don't like about the mission is that we go out and work hard all day and then we have a once in a blue moon holiday and we are stuck in our apartments going crazy. LOL just kidding we have lots of work to do in our apartment. So that will be fun. Love y'all

Politics as a Missionary 11-12-12

So Tuesday, thank goodness that is over as a missionary it is really hard to have a Mormon running and NOT for anything be able to talk about it. Thank goodness that day is over. :) as for the country when I get home who knows good thing i have the Gospel in my life and love and live it. Wednesday, we had an amazing Coordination meeting in our willow Creek ward. Thursday, we had a lesson with Bernard an investigator that we have been working with the whole time that i have been here. He committed to come to church with us on Sunday:) O Yeah:) Friday we had AMAZING zone meeting. Words can not tell you about this meeting, we had a hike through the Doctrine of Christ and it was really powerful, also we found out the effect on the Arizona Phoenix Mission because of the announcement of lowering the age of missionaries. We are going from 160 missionaries in the APM in January to 250 missionaries in the APM by April. We have 9 English sister companionship right now to 10 new companionship coming by April that is more then double the sisters that are in the mission. CRAZY TOWN:) we all are tighten up and preparing for the BIG increase in new missionaries coming in. We are tightening down on the laxness and really TIGHTENING UP. Saturday we had Adult stake conference and it was really great it is about becoming a Zion person and community. Sunday, wow Bernard came to church and it was amazing it was a broadcast from SLC. Elder Holland, Pres. Eyring, and 2 other authorities talked to us. Wow what a conference, I have to say We as a mission are super pumped for the next 6 months, I wish i could be here longer to see the real fruit of it, but i am honored to be a part of it. This truly is a answer to prayers because with these kind of number of missionaries coming in will there will be 1.5 missionary companionship per ward throughout the mission. We will not have to cover 3 wards and be so stretched thin in our work in each ward. that also means that the members of the church will also have to step it up and be better member missionaries. I just want to conclude with my testimony that the work that I and you all are apart of is for real and now is the time to prepare and do all that we can to prepare to meet our Heavenly Father and Love ones again. I am so grateful for temples and the connection that we get to make there with not only drawing closer to our Heavenly Father and making more convents with our loving Heavenly Father, and our ancestors. I love you all so much and hope that you find opportunities to straighten and share your testimonies this week.
