Success not measured by numbers 11-5-12

Well this week was good, we had a lot of great things happen. Saturday we were lead by the spirit to do a lot of great things and great things resulted from it. As a matter of fact i have done a lot of reflecting this week, being that Friday is November 9th, which means I have been a missionary for a Year. Holly Cow how time fly's, I am Not ready to take this tag off I am not ready to leave these wonderful people here, not now not in 6 months. I love what i do, it is the greatest job I will ever do and am grateful that I have the chance to do it as well. Al though we may not be teaching a lot of people right now we are working with amazing members and helping their testimonies to grow and develop more. Working with less actives is just as rewarding as teaching and baptizing millions.

My companion is learning that right now, we talk a lot about success and how it is not measured by numbers. I am excited to be here in Prescott for Christmas I hear it is one of the most amazing places to be except for home of course. I must say right now I am Reading the New Testament straight through and how amazing it is and how much my testimony has grown of my savior Jesus Christ and how grateful I am to Him for all that he has done for me and how grateful I am for the chance that he has given me to Represent Him today and for the power and authority that my calling has. I am grateful for it. I am So Happy that I have the chance to help others find a greater joy and happiness in this life. I cant believe that time has flown like it has and the wonderful people that i have meet.

Love and Miss ya'll,

Sister Robinson

Another Transfer in Prescott! 10-30-12

Well I and S. Culler are staying and next transfer week is Dec. 12th just so you know. This week has been crazy Sister Taylor texted us on Sunday and told me that Josh and Angela got married and Josh got baptized this weekend. (Josh and Angela were from Bethany Home). The work is getting really slow but miracles are going to happen this month November is Miracle month for the mission. and we are going to have miracles in our area. It is going to be a great month. Not much to talk about the big news is Josh and Angela.

Love and miss you Sister Robinson

10-22-12 On my bike again... I just cant wait to ride my bike again...

First thing is first the weeks fly by faster and faster the longer you have been out. Not to mention transfers, this is the last week of this transfer so next week we will email on Tuesday, and start transfer number 9. :( the mission goes by so fast, it is crazy.

This weeks events:

Monday: p-day not much else.
Tuesday: we got a new investigator and she is Buddhist, i must say that is one interesting religion, and have a lot of similar pieces to the truth, but are missing a lot as well. She is a really sweet lady we meet her going through our area book and went by and we cleaned up her yard with the elders and went back the next week to teach her.
Wednesday: we had exchanges and I went down to El Mirage and worked with S. Bruckman (who came out with me), and the best part of it all was that I GOT TO RIDE MY BIKE FOR THE DAY AGAIN:) I loved it so much, and it was only in the 90s however it was really hot compared to Prescott. It was fun I got to go to their District Meeting and then on Thursday i went to my District meeting.
Thursday was weekly planning and district meeting .
Friday: We took our truck to the get looked at.
Saturday: we woke up at 5 am and went and to phoenix that morning and had a conference with Elder Neil Anderson of the 12, it was amazing conference and I am so excited to go out and work.

anyway sorry my mind is not on emailing.

love you, Sister Robinson

No crutches here... 10-15-12

This week we started off with dinner on Monday with a less active family and they had the cutest grand kids, I love those kids. We dropped one of our investigators for a couple of weeks so that he can exercise his faith and learn and grow in the gospel without us as a crutch. We did service for this Former investigator this week and set up a lesson for this Tuesday to go back and teach her. We are excited about that, she is Buddhist and believes in re carnation and crazy things like that, so we will see how it goes. We also had 2 lessons with our investigator named Dusty this week and on Friday HE PRAYED HE PRAYED OUT LOUD:) It was the most amazing prayed I have ever heard ever. It has taken us 9 weeks of inviting to get him to pray our loud. I thought i was going to cry during the prayed, but i held it together and did not. mostly because i did not want to explain why i was crying during his prayed. LOL Thursday we went to one of the wards young women s night and we shared with them how we decided we were going on a mission and what has been our experience so far. then they asked us questions about anything and everything. It was really neat and opened the idea up so some that would not have thought about it. Friday we had interview and I learned alot about my companion President shared with me some things that really helped me to learn how I could help her more. I love S. Culler so much, she is a great missionary. Saturday was a busy day just doing missionary things. LOL Sunday we were back to our normal 7 hours of church on Sunday, and can I say I really missed it :) I know crazy. After Church we went and helped a less-active put an alternator in his 68 ford pickup truck and we were actually helpful. I must say that who would have thought that the study habits from reading and studying the scriptures would help you with a 68 ford truck manual and being able to help connect the alternator. Anyway, we had a great week and learned lots. Love you all

10-8-12 General Conference- Missionary Style

So this week was great we has zone interviews on friday and general conference on saturday and sunday. Man can i say General Conference was amazing.

http://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch/2012/10?lang=eng&vid=1882743190001&cid=3

watch this link it is opening comments from president Monson. He changes the age of missionaries, the whole world was shocked.

http://www.lds.org/general-conference/watch/2012/10?lang=eng&vid=1882747991001&cid=10 this was another one of my favorite talks. Elder Nelson backs up us missionaries and it was so good. All of conference is so good I love hearing the words and finding answers to questions i have. I am excited because we have interview this friday and I am so excited to talk to president. Mom I would love a pea coat because i have a feeling i will be here most if not all the winter and I can send it back home if I do leave. i am crazy cold at night already. I am sorry it is a short email I will try to write a letter i am just not in the mind to email right now sorry.

Love you all,

Sister Robinson

NO Planner- No news 10-1-12

Well first off i forgot my planner and therefore I forgot everything i was going to write about:) sorry:(. However, I wrote last week about this amazing hike that we were going to be going on and it was amazing I will send pictures. Also, at the bottom of it we talked about the Atonement and it was amazing. Then today we hiked a different hike and it was so good also, I am becoming quite the hiker. Next week S. Culler and I are going to try this intense workout that is popular around here called CROSS FIT and hopefully i don't die after it. LOL

I'm becoming quite the hiker!

Before the remodel....

After the remodel, its amazing what a difference
a sink makes.....

As far as the work has gone it is was great this week we are making progress with one of our investigators and he is a slow moving investigator. You know that saying you cant teach an old dog new tricks, well you can but it takes a lot longer then other investigators. We are making small steps with him and it is really teaching us patience and tolerance:) both are great things to learn. Well got to run and finish our p-day activities. here are some pictures I forgot to add we had to get our bathroom sink replaced this week, so there are some pictures of it. Not to mention it is not only where we wash our hands but also our dishes. so it was a real inconvenience.

Love and miss you,

S. Robinson

Double Digits of being a missionary 9-10-12

This is out our back door and the first time in Jeans since December!
And they still fit!  Maybe even looser than before!
Well first I will share this yesterday was my 10 month mark from the MTC. Crazy that it is double digit months now. Here are some of the pictures that I have taken this week.

Truck and Rock - Things for my Brother Wyatt to admire.....
Yep I get to Drive it every day!
Street signs to enjoy.
I love the cross streets with
Hootenanny and corn squeezing reminds
me of something you would find back home. LOL

This week has been a trying week, a lot of our scheduled lessons feel through and it was just a hard week in general. But we had an amazing Zone meeting, the Zone leaders did a great job bring the spirit and the energy in and balancing the two of them. It got us all pumped for the month of September. Again like i said not much this week, other then it was a hard one. next week is going to be much better.

Even the Coyote work the pass along cards! 9-3-12

Tuesday we had exchanges and sister Culler went down and worked in Sun City and I stayed up here with Sister Follet from Sun City we had a great time had lots of good lessons, then drove down to Sun City for the night because Wednesday we had sister training meeting and man was it hot. I was glad to be going back to "Heaven" Prescott at the end:) I may just move her after the mission I love it here so much. So yea we had Sister Training meeting which is pretty much just a day off. Because we made memory boxes and scarfs with our hands that was really cool, it was fun. Thursday not a lot happened lessons meetings and some solid Potential investigators. Saturday some of the Elders from the zone were going home from exercising and found a dead coyote on the side of the road and they thought it would be funny to put it by our truck with a mormon.org card in its mouth and well. the prank did not go so well, a member was driving by our house and saw the coyote next to our truck and stop and got rid of it for us, before we saw it well it had the Mormon org card in the mouth and so the Brother came back later in the day and told us about it we freaked out and called pres. Taylor thinking someone is trying to tell us something. could not get him so called the ZL and they proceed to tell us that it was them trying to be funny. Did not work and we did not even get to see it. :( funny story to laugh about now. So we made them a picture that sister Culler drew of a wold and we put a mormon.org card in its mouth and a scripture and gave it to all of them. they loved it and said they were putting them on their planners.

8/27/12 Havalina Adventures

Well to start off with the most resent thing we were out for our morning run this morning and we saw a havalina (it is a wild pig thing it looks like puma off the lion king but without tusks). Was crazy, but they are practically blind so if you just stand still they will walk right by you thinking that you are a tree. Stupid animals. LOL. So it has rained most of the week and has been great I think i have seen it in the 90s once this week and that is it. It has been great Sister Culler is amazing and very different also. She is my hardest yet, but at the same time not really. It is amazing on the mission you are friends with people you would never be friends with and you instantly love them too. We are teaching some great people right now, I cant tell you how good it feels to be teaching people and inviting them to be baptized and seeing them turn there life around. it is so great i love it so much. I have missed this feeling. Sister bailey wrote me a letter this week she is doing well I cant wait to get home and go visit her again. We write each other weekly. Also, has Unice made it home? I got a letter from him but did not write him back because I knew he was going home soon.

That is crazy news about wyatt, that boy has surprised me in the last two emails. tell him to write me please. where for school for what? fill me in on his life. We had a lesson with this guy named Paul yesterday and invited him to be baptized it was so great. The spirit is so strong in the lessons that we have been having I love it so much. What is the institute class y'all are talking is wyatt going to take it with you? So I made it through church yesterday:) let me just say I will never complain that 3 hours of church is to long. Having three wards to cover we had 7 hours of church and 3 times to take the sacrament. So needless to say I have been forgiven and recommitted my promises to Heavenly Father 3 times over yesterday. So i better live extra good this week. LOL How is church did you go yesterday what was talked about? O yea Do i have a plaque and church? I never heard if I did or not. Well I think that is it for today love you all so much:)

Love, Sister R

Prescott! 8-20-2012

YEP YOU GOT THE HEADING RIGHT I MOVED UP TO PRESCOTT LAST NIGHT:)
One of the sisters went home early for school and so that put the Prescott sister up her to cover the three wards by her self so they moved me up her and sister Parks remains is Manistee Ranch working in a trio with the Spanish Hermana's. We made the switch last night and I have been freezing ok not really but it dropped 20-30 degrees in the drive up, and my body is not use to it. I am now working with Sister Culler (said like Collor) she is from Colorado, she is great :) o yea i am now covering 3 wards and driving a truck life is great:) Prescott is a beautiful place and i am in love already. Elder Bartleson is my zone leader ( he was the elder that came out with me and we stayed together for the entire time i was in Bethany and he was in my district and now 8 weeks later he is my zone leader) my district leader up her is Elder Dunn who also came out with me and Elder Bartleson. Crazy Fun:) O yea and as far as the package you need to send ALL mail to
910 Country Park Drive
Prescott, Az 86301.

Because all mail that goes to the mission office I will only get maybe once a month because we are so far away. so make sure everyone know in the branch and on Facebook  but do tell Markie boy that i got his the night i left. so it did come. the stuff you have is good because i don't need the z bars as much up here because it is not as draining but you can send what you have. got to run and email the grandparents too love you and cant wait to here your response next week.

Love Sister R

PS I found the scorpion ( spelled wrong) when I was packing i picked up something and it was right by my hand and all i could do was stand there and laugh. :)

Hot! 8-13-12

Well since I feel like it has not been that long since i emailed last i feel like i don't have much to say. We had a great HOT week. the high it got on Thursday was 117, which is really hard to convince yourself to go out and work. but the testimony is hotter then the heat and the refiners fire always made people better so why not try the physical refiners fire out, and see if the same outcome occurs. Today we were at the chiropractor and I got to see Sister Murdock she and sister Pilcher her current companion were there because her companion has a bad back. She told me that Josh is still not baptized and Angela stopped coming for a month or so. I think that is the hard part is hearing of those that you were teaching and now you are not and they are sliding backwards and there is nothing you can do about it. We have been going and meeting all of the people on the ward roster and went and meet Sister Despain, come to find out that her parents moved to Kanab Utah back in 98 maybe or around there (do you know any Despains Grandma Linda and Grandpa Tony). It was a cool run into home.

Also, we finally got into this member that not many can get into just because she is sad and sleeping all the time because she is morning the loss of her son back in may. well we meet her on Friday told her we would come back on Saturday and give her the numbers that she asked us for and she then was at church on Sunday and stayed all three hours:) at the end she told us that she was coming to the RS activity on Tuesday ) was so good to hear. sorry for all the typo errors the computer is being funny and will not let me go back and fix the works. Well got to run hope you all have a safe week, and don't get to hot and drink lots of water.:) o wait you all tell me that hehe:) o yea and we have zone conference tomorrow so we will be inside most of the day:) The picture is proof it gets hot. lol

Love,

Sister R.

Transfers with no action here! 8-7-12

Well as you can tell I am emailing on Tuesday so therefore it must be transfer week... Yep no one is leaving. That was kinda a given I have been here 6 weeks and sister Parks has been here 2. Things with the ward are getting better, Sister Parks and I have just come to the realization that our purpose here is to rebuilding the ward. Rebuild the wards trust in missionaries, rebuild the purpose of missionary work and how we do it etc. the list goes on. However, now that we have that established we are ready to hit the ground running with members being drug behind us (just kidding on that last part). No but really we have a few investigators that we are working with but nothing solid very slow progressing. however, they will be solid members when they do come to the realization that this is the correct church and only true church on the face of the earth. This week we have had exchanges and so i stayed here and sister parks went to sun city. it was fun Sister Fluckiger and i took the bus in the morning because are car was put in the shop the night before because we took it in because the "fan belt" keep squeaking and I have had my fair share of squeaking fan belts in my day so we took it in and come to find out that in newer then a 88 jeep cars how have all kinds of things connected to the fan belt so it was really that our water pump was broken so Elder Rodgers would not let us drive it until it was fixed.so we went the day without a car and my bike had 2 flat tires:( so i rode sister Parks brand new bike it was like having a new car....:) which we got a new one of those just yesterday. we hit the mile limit on mission cars and they gave us a 2012 Toyota (my 3rd new car the past 4 or 5 months). Well i cant think of anything else the pictures are for you to enjoy. Also the one of the girl and the rat is the young girl that we live with we call her our third companion long story. the picture of sister parks using a walker is because it was fast Sunday this week, and although we do fast we DO NOT fast from water out here in the desert and sister parks is still adjusting to the heat and did not drink enough water and passed out in the members front yard so this is her going inside. and the one with the 3 sisters is the Texas trio ( aka my last three companions). got to go love you all
Sister R.

Sister Parks Arrives on Scene to the Heat! July 30-2012

So I have a new companion this week, her name is Sister Parks. Sister Bailey went home on medical to work some things out and then to hopefully return in the next few months. Sister Parks came down to the valley from Prescott and thinks that the weather is ridiculous down here. She is overwhelmed by the heat and is not sure what to think about it either. She came out on her mission with Sister Murdock and Sister Bailey, my last two companions which can i say they are known as the Texas trio because that are all from Texas and all came out together. In fact Sister Parks and Sister Murdock were roommates when they got their calls to serve in Phoenix, Az. It is pretty cool, anyway I Sister Parks and I are working hard to reactivate the ward members they have a lot of less active members, and that is what the ward needs at the time because they don't have very many to fill all the callings of a ward. So we are going down the ward roster getting to know the ward members. Transfers are next week so who knows if sister parks will stay or what will happen. We are preparing for 3 or 4 English sisters to come in in September and so this transfer prepares us for that and moving us all around in the areas to train those coming in. We will see what next week holds. Time is almost up but hope you all have a great week and REMEMBER TO LOOK UPWARD this week:)

Triple digits April 23, 2012

Well I must say this week got hot we hit triple digit numbers . Just in time because we got a car on Monday to stay with us permanently:) it is a Red 2012 Toyota corolla. Nice I know and to top it off I am driver because I am senior comp. crazy. I must say to get behind a wheel after 5 months or so of not driving was a little weird feeling. but i got use to it fast driving in Phoenix. LOL we are still riding bikes though so we are what they call part car part bike area. we are teaching this little girl named Naja right now and her dad started asking question the other day in the lesson so we are starting to teach him also. can I just say that chastity is a hard commandment for the world to live we are teaching 3 investigators that want to be baptized but have a chastity problem. sorry if this letter is off on spelling the keyboard is acting weird. we had 4 investigators at church this week. We were crazy excited. short email this week.
Love,
Sister Robinson

Missionaries, You Are Missionaries! April 9-2012

Good Am family and friends what a week has come and gone, lots has been done and experienced in this week. To start us off on the journey Tuesday after emails and pday had ended out to the streets of phoenix our bike wheels went up and down our 3 mile area, what the exercise we got. At the end of the day, 9pm hit the watch on my wrist and home was our target nothing stopping us or getting in our way of planning and my pillow i would lay. But a noise came from behind me a music to my ears. " MISSIONARIES, ARE YOU MISSIONARIES"  a voice sounded from the dark behind. Turning around sharply, I raced back to meet a sweet lady and her boyfriend, and the cutest 9 year old daughter who in fact was unbaptized and had the most desire to be wet and come unto Christ. we are meeting with her again this week:) continuing on the journey of a missionary life, I laid my head down just for what felt like a moment in time when the alarm went off and Wednesday adventures were here. But today was not just any day it was indeed Kattie's interview day, what joy it was to have her come from that cold church room and say " well it looks like i am getting baptized . what joy filled my heart and mind, for she is a amazing child of God that has come unto Christ. Thursday was coming very quickly for which i was surprised looking back how it could not be Thursday already Monday felt just like yesterday. but Thursday it was indeed, which we had a lesson with a new family, yes I said family what joy it is to bring one person unto the waters and fire, but 3 that is joy I can not explain. their name is the Knights and what a wonderful family they are, amazing amazing is all i can say. Friday was they day that Sister Murdock and I have been dreaming of for a month now and it finally came it was the night of the Mesa Easter Pageant that we so longed to go and what great joy it was to be on those Holy grounds to watch the life of our Savior and all that he has done for us. what spirit was felt that night that no one no no one could have denied. Sunday was the Easter Sabbath what joy and gratitude what in my heart, not just for the Savior, but also 4 investigators at church we found on that beautiful Easter morn. One of which was Liam who would not and has not come in the 4 months I have been out. What joy filled my heart as I saw him walk in to church that day. got to run but i hope you enjoy the extra effort in the email and hope you can see what it is. Love and miss you all hope your Easter was great:)
